The Canterbury Tales
Additional Information:
This selection of tales is modernized for relatively young readers, designated as "pre-intermediate" in the book's apparatus. The selected tales include those of the Knight, the Clerk, the Wife of Bath, the Pardoner, the Franklin, the Friar, and the Nun's Priest, along with the general prologue. Most of the illustrations are by Ambrus, and reprint the illustrations in Geraldine McCaughrean's 2000 edition of the Canterbury Tales; they are rendered in soft colors, largely yellows, blues, and greens. One illustration accompanies each tale. The opening pilgrim portraits, black-and-white line drawings done by David Cuzik, are original to this version of the Tales.
