Tales of the Canterbury Pilgrims Retold from Chaucer and Others
Additional Information:
Darton's text here is essentially the same as that of the 1914 Story of the Canterbury Pilgrims illustrated by M. L. Kirk; however, Thomson's illustrations are black-and-white pen sketches, rather than the color illustrations rendered by Kirk. Several of them are on the same topic - Thomson's version also features an illustration of the Pardoner with his cakes, for example - but many others are different. Further, Thomson includes headpieces at the start of each tale in addition to his full page sketches.
